Delft Nails

I've been having a play with my acrylic paints again! I thought I would take the colours from a Delft tile and make them work on nails. This was the result:

I started with a base of China Glaze White on White and applied a topcoat of China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat.  Next I used some watered down blue acrylic paint and added the flowers with a very fine nail art brush.  The finished design was covered in another layer of topcoat to protect it.



I was really pleased with these nails and they proved to be quite robust, lasting a whole week without chipping before I took them off to paint another design.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Food

I'm playing catch up at the moment and this is the prompt for 2 weeks ago, which was food. I wanted to do something a little different so I created a design inspired by the secret rainbow cakes.  Those cakes that are covered in plain icing and look quite simple until you cut into them and the sponge inside is a rainbow of colours, sometimes layered and sometimes swirled.  I went with the swirled option.
