40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Christmas

The prompt for this week is Christmas. I have taken a traditional route for this and painted Santa stuck in a chimney.

My nailbeds are quite curved so it is sometimes difficult to get a picture of an image painted on the whole nail, but I have tried my best.

More details after the jump.

As there was glitter involved in this I started with a base of OPI Glitter Off Base Coat.  I've tried this once before and it worked quite well.  I'm going to give it a good test run over the festive period and try out all my lovely sparkly glitters!

The base colour is China Glaze Frostbite (one of the favourites in my collection).  On top of this I painted China Glaze Chillin' With My Snow-mies glitter topcoat.  I coated everything with China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat.

I painted the design on my thumbnail with acrylic paint and covered this with a coat of Essie Matte About You to reduce the shine and make it easier to photograph.

  1. I like those starry night, and Santa's pants are hilarious! I'm going to make my gel nail manicure tomorrow morning, I think I'll steal your idea, if you don't mind)
