Little Night Flower

I'm playing catch up with this challenge as I've been really busy at work and not had time to edit the pictures and write up the blog posts.  To make up for this I will be publishing a few posts each day this week. For day 5 I was inspired by the colour combination of two new polishes I bought in the January sales at TK Maxx. More details after the jump.

A much darker look for day 2 of the Tri Polish Challenge. I have tried to create a random placement of flowers rather than a uniform look over each nail and I quite like the outcome. More details after the break.

Lots of posts to upload this week after a quite week away! For Monkey See Monkey Do Monday I have attempted the dotty rainbow from Robin Moses  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm6019M1O6g .  Many of my MSMD Monday posts have and will be inspired by this amazing artist.  Her explanations of how to apply pressure when painting various shapes has really helped me get to grips with painting on nails with acrylic paint and added a whole new dimension to my nail art. I had a quick practice on a tip to get the technique down. More details after the break.

After seeing cherry blossom nails all over the place I really wanted to have a go myself but wasn't sure where to start.  I found this Cute Polish tutorial on You Tube ( http://youtu.be/nuc0iNXLZmM ) really helpful but I did change the colours a little bit when I did it myself. I thought it was time for something a little more spring like so I'm having a go at entering a competition with a floral theme.  Crumpet's Amateur Nail Art Contest I started with a base of Barry M Blue Moon and added Barry M Spring Green for the grass, with a bit of Barry M Emerald Green and Mint Green sponged over the top.  The clouds were stamped with Konad white stamping polish and Gals image plate GA26, using only half the image on each nail to add a bit of diversity to the pattern.  The flowers were added using a dotting tool and Vivo Tall Order for the petals and NYC Lexington Yellow for the centre.  Finally topped with a generous coat of China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat to stop me smudging it all before I can take a picture.
