31 Day Challenge 2015 - Day 6 - Half and Half

Image
I've never been good at measuring things exactly so this half and half mani has the two halves merging into each other. More details after the jump.

33 Day Challenge - 3 Colour Gradient and Pattern

Image
Just a quick one for this theme. More details after the jump.

33 Day Challenge Day 1 - Dots

Image
When I first decided to participate in a challenge I came up an idea for dots and had to paint it while it was still in my head.  Apologies for the orange tone of the picture, I was still getting to grips with my camera when this was taken and hadn't quite mastered indoor night-time pictures.  I've seen this look done before but I had a couple of polishes I thought would really work together for this. More details after the jump.

31 Day Challenge Day 11 - Polka Dots

Image
This post has taken me quite a while to put together as I wasn't quite happy with the various ideas I came up with for this theme.  While this design could have used a bit more planning it was the best of the bunch. More details after the jump.

31 Day Challenge - Day 9 - Rainbow

Image
When I got the idea for yesterday's metallic nails it led very quickly to this one.  I was going to add the jukebox in with the shoes but I thought there was room to work with it all on its own.  I call this look my eclectic rainbow jukebox. More details and pictures after the jump.

31 Day Challenge - Day 7 - Black and White

Image
Here's a little something for the weekend.  Day 7 of the 31 Day Challenge calls for black and white nails and I came up with this mani. More details after the jump.

31 Day Challenge - Day 3 - Yellow

Image
Day 3 of the 31 Day Challenge and today's theme is yellow nails. More details after the jump.

August Tri Polish Challenge Day 3

Image
I can't believe August is almost over! I've got a couple of more detailed looks to post over the next couple of day but today's mani is a nice quick, simple one. More details after the jump.

August Tri Polish Challenge Day 1

Image
A slight variation on the dotted flowers mani today for day 1 of this month's tri polish challenge. More details after the jump.

July Tri-Polish Challenge Day 3

Image
I had these pictures taken and was planning to set them up to post before I went away on holiday.  Unfortunately I wasn't quite as organised as I wanted to be and the posts were never written.  I'm playing catch up now so should have a few interesting things for you over the next few days. This was just a quick mani using the chosen colours for the tri-polish challenge Barry M Cyan Blue, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Barry M Mint Green. More details after the break.

Wednesday Work Nails - I have a herring problem

Image
This week I have been looking at my untried polishes.  I picked up OPI - I have a herring problem from the sale shelf in my local Sally's a while back when I was looking for a neutral colour to wear to work. More details after the break.

June Tri Polish Challenge - Day 2

Image
A much darker look for day 2 of the Tri Polish Challenge. I have tried to create a random placement of flowers rather than a uniform look over each nail and I quite like the outcome. More details after the break.

British Nail Bloggers - Weekly Round Up

Image
I have come to the Barry M Gelly party quite late.  However I am making up for lost time and have recently acquired 12 from the range due to various special offers making it worth my while. As green seems to be the colour of the moment I thought I would have a go with the green Gelly nail paints in my collection.  It was at this moment I was struck by a dilemma, which colour to choose?  The good thing about nail art is you don't have to choose just one colour!  This was the result: More details after the break.

MSMD Monday - Dotty Rainbow

Image
Lots of posts to upload this week after a quite week away! For Monkey See Monkey Do Monday I have attempted the dotty rainbow from Robin Moses  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm6019M1O6g .  Many of my MSMD Monday posts have and will be inspired by this amazing artist.  Her explanations of how to apply pressure when painting various shapes has really helped me get to grips with painting on nails with acrylic paint and added a whole new dimension to my nail art. I had a quick practice on a tip to get the technique down. More details after the break.

May Tri-Polish Challenge Day 1

Image
A little 80s inspired look for the first day of the May Tri-Polish Challenge. More details after the jump.

Funky Friday Nails - Comic Book

Image
This week I thought I would have a go at recreating the look from these  Model's Own Wah Nails wraps .  Obviously mine don't look as neat and professional as the wraps which, are based on the most popular designs from the Wah Nails Salons, but I was still pleased with how they turned out. More details and pictures after the jump.

Tri-Polish Challenge Day 1

Image
If at first you don't succeed...moan and complain about it then pick yourself up and have another go! The colours for the tri-polish challenge this month are turquoise (Rimmel Sky High), pink (NYC Faithful Fuchsia) and orange (17 Tropical Island). Something simple but effective to start off with but I have something more elaborate planned for the other 3 looks. This is a base of Barry M Matt White with a single colour dotted over each nail.

Going Dotty

Image
You know those days when nothing seems to go right?  Well I'm having one of those days.  I've picked up the cold that has been doing the rounds and I've been so busy that I totally forgot about theatre tickets I had bought in December so missed out on an evening with the stars from Strictly Come Dancing.  We had gales and dust storms too so a last minute mad dash through to the theatre was out of the question. To cheer myself up I decided to have a go at the tri polish challenge this month.  I came up with a very simple idea for today's mani with dots in the chosen colours. I managed to seriously smudge the first attempt so had to take it all off and start again.  After more smudging and retouching it was all finished for the second time, I  took a couple of pictures and brought up the page to get the link to enter the challenge.  This is when I discovered the colours for this month are turquoise, orange and pink and I had used turquoise, orange an...
