Little Night Flower

As I'm not religious, Easter for me means creme eggs in multi packs in the supermarket. This design was suggested to me by a colleague at work who had seen it on the facebook page of a local nail bar. This past year my polish collection has grown at a rather rapid rate.  However I seem to have bought an equal amount of colours but pink won out by one polish. More details after the jump.

A bit late but I am getting around to posting up the manis I did for the 33 Day Challenge. I chose Venice as the inspiration for the Europe theme. More details after the jump.

This theme has fallen by chance on the day after the announcement of the death of The Pogues's guitarist Philip Cheveron ( see the story here ).  One of his well known songs for the group was Thousands are Sailing , about mass emigration from Ireland to America as a result of the famine.  I thought I would incorporate this idea into today's design as a small tribute.  More details after the jump.

I had these pictures taken and was planning to set them up to post before I went away on holiday.  Unfortunately I wasn't quite as organised as I wanted to be and the posts were never written.  I'm playing catch up now so should have a few interesting things for you over the next few days. This was just a quick mani using the chosen colours for the tri-polish challenge Barry M Cyan Blue, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Barry M Mint Green. More details after the break.

Whew it has been a busy old week this week and I'm frantically playing catch up. I loved the look I did for day 2 of this month's tri polish challenge and ended up wearing it for a whole week. More details after the break.

This week I have been looking at my untried polishes.  I picked up OPI - I have a herring problem from the sale shelf in my local Sally's a while back when I was looking for a neutral colour to wear to work. More details after the break.

I took a less is more approach to the use of the chosen polishes for day 3 of this month's tri-polish challenge. My chosen polishes for this month are: Red - OPI - Quarter of a Cent-Cherry Pink - OPI - Suzi & The Lifeguard Purple - Barry M - Gelly - Prickly Pear I was going to use this one for day 4 but another idea jumped into my head which I had to try out which made the cut for day 4.  More details on this look and my original day 3 look after the break

Its that time of the month again where The Crumpet's Nail Tarts are given 3 colours and have to choose a polish to represent each colour.  These three polishes are then used to create 4 different manis with the help of only black, white, silver and gold polish and one of these mani must contain all three polishes together. A less complicated than it looks mani for day 3 of the May tri-polish challenge. I have given this one the title of Abstract Roses as it reminds me a bit of an abstract painting. More details after the jump.

To show some support for the first World Ovarian Cancer Day I have created an Art Deco Look using Teal - as that is the colour for the day. More details after the jump. Ovarian Cancer can affect any woman and if caught early enough is treatable with a good chance of survival.  Unfortunately there are still many cases where the disease is not caught early and chances of surviving 5 years from the initial diagnosis are greatly reduced.  Early detection and treatment obviously need a lot more research and there are links in the graphic above for more information. When it was suggested on Crumpet's Nail Tarts Facebook page that the members do a mani using teal to show their support and raise awareness for this day I thought "I can do that".  This is the finished result: I used Barry M Teal as the base and stamped with Barry M Silver Foil over my index, ring and little fingers with Gals image plate GA35.  I filled in the little squares in the design w...

The work week is done and the weekend is finally here so it is time for something a little more vibrant on my nails. I started with a base of Rimmel Azure and stamped an image from Cheeky plate CH51 over the top  in 17 Holographic Silver.  There are nice subtle iridescent pink highlights in both polishes which complimented each other really well and this looks really great in sunlight. This weekend sees the start of the May Day celebrations so there will be another post up tomorrow with something to welcome Summer.  All we need now is a bit of sunshine!

Saturday night and nowhere to go.  At least my nails are ready for a night on the tiles. I used a base of Barry M Matt White and added the detail with Claire's Two Way Nail Art Pen and Brush in black and white.  For a bit of extra sparkle I added Claire's glitter top coat over the black jacket and bow tie and China Glaze Nova over the white jacket and bow tie.
