Little Night Flower

I'm playing catch up at the moment and this is the prompt for 2 weeks ago, which was food. I wanted to do something a little different so I created a design inspired by the secret rainbow cakes.  Those cakes that are covered in plain icing and look quite simple until you cut into them and the sponge inside is a rainbow of colours, sometimes layered and sometimes swirled.  I went with the swirled option. There is so much you can do with rainbow and this time round I decided to try a leopard print.  This was inspired while I was searching for images on Pinterest and found the design here . More details after the jump.

What makes me happy?  Lots of colour, music and cute things.  I have tried to represent these things in this mani.  I even managed to take the photo during daylight hours, so the colour balance is a bit better this time. More details after the jump.

When I got the idea for yesterday's metallic nails it led very quickly to this one.  I was going to add the jukebox in with the shoes but I thought there was room to work with it all on its own.  I call this look my eclectic rainbow jukebox. More details and pictures after the jump.

For Monkey See Monkey Do Monday I have attempted the dotty rainbow from Robin Moses  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm6019M1O6g .  Many of my MSMD Monday posts have and will be inspired by this amazing artist.  Her explanations of how to apply pressure when painting various shapes has really helped me get to grips with painting on nails with acrylic paint and added a whole new dimension to my nail art. I had a quick practice on a tip to get the technique down. More details after the break.
