31 Day Challenge Day 24 Inspired by a Book

The very strong graphic of the red lips against the white face on the cover of Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden inspired this mani.

The cherry blossom nails have a base of Ciate Pepperminty with the detail painted in acrylic paint.


The Geisha on my thumb nail has a base of Nina French White and the hair is China Glaze Liquid
Leather.  The rest of the detail was painted on using acrylic paint and covered in a coat of Nina Super Dry Top Coat to smooth everything over and protect the design.

I'm playing catch up at the moment and this is the prompt for 2 weeks ago, which was food. I wanted to do something a little different so I created a design inspired by the secret rainbow cakes.  Those cakes that are covered in plain icing and look quite simple until you cut into them and the sponge inside is a rainbow of colours, sometimes layered and sometimes swirled.  I went with the swirled option.
