31 Day Challenge - Day 5 Blue Nails

Day 5 of the 31 Day Challenge and I have toned down the colours for today's mani.

The base is two coats of Model's Own Blueberry Muffin.  This is a scented polish, a fact I totally forgot until after this was finished and I had to figure out where the perfume smell was coming from.  Even under another polish, acrylic paint and two lots of top coat the scent lasted for the three days I wore this mani.  The blueberry muffin scent wasn't unpleasant and I love this colour so it is one I will wear again.  



To add a bit of a gradient and sparkle I painted Model's Own Indian Ocean over the tips of my nails.  Over this I added a coat of Nina Super Dry Top Coat to give a smooth base to paint on.  The detail on each nail was painted with white FolkArt acrylic paint and a very fine nail art brush.  I applied another coat of Nina Super Dry Top Coat to seal everything in and make the glitter sparkle.

I'm playing catch up at the moment and this is the prompt for 2 weeks ago, which was food. I wanted to do something a little different so I created a design inspired by the secret rainbow cakes.  Those cakes that are covered in plain icing and look quite simple until you cut into them and the sponge inside is a rainbow of colours, sometimes layered and sometimes swirled.  I went with the swirled option.
